The objective of this paper is to give a complete classification, up to derived equivalence, of the representation-finite (connected, basic) self-injective algebras over an algebraically closed field. The main result of the paper says that two representation-finite self-injective algebras are derived equivalent if and only if they are stably equivalent, if and only if their stable Auslander-Reiten quivers are isomorphic. Also, each derived equivalence class is characterised by a set of complete invariants. In particular, the author shows that a standard representation-finite self-injective algebra is never stably equivalent to a non-standard one. For the proof, the author uses heavily the known classification of the representation-finite self-injective algebras, and the known fact that, if two self-injective algebras are derived equivalent, then they are stably equivalent.
