\textit{R. Dipper} and \textit{G. James} [J. Algebra 146, No. 2, 454-481 (1992; Zbl 0808.20016)] investigated the representations of the Hecke algebra \(H_{q,Q}(B_n)\) of type \(B_n\) and under certain conditions on the values of \(q\) and \(Q\), determined the irreducible \(H_{q,Q}(B_n)\)-modules. The same task was completed by \textit{C. Pallikaros} [J. Algebra 169, No. 1, 20-48 (1994; Zbl 0833.20019)] for the Hecke algebra \(H_q(D_n)\) of type \(D_n\), for odd values of \(n\) and under similar conditions on \(q\). In that paper he determined the simple \(H_q(D_n)\)-modules for even values of \(n\) also subject to the same conditions on \(q\), but with the exception of modules corresponding to repeated partitions \((\lambda,\lambda)\). \textit{R. Dipper}, \textit{G. James} and \textit{E. Murphy} [Proc. Lond. Math. Soc., III. Ser. 70, 505-528 (1995; Zbl 0829.20021)] determined the irreducible \(H_{q,Q}(B_n)\)-modules for all possible values of \(q\) and \(Q\). Moreover, they note that there is an embedding of \(H_q(D_n)\) into \(H_{q,1}(B_n)\). In the present article, the representations of Hecke algebras of type \(D_n\) are investigated for all invertible \(q\) by studying the restrictions to \(H_q(D_n)\) of the Specht module \(\widetilde S^\lambda\) and simple module \(\widetilde D^\lambda\) of \(H_{q,1}(B_n)\). A description of two sets \(A'\), \(B'\) of simple \(H_q(D_n)\)-modules is given, which includes all the simple \(H_q(D_n)\)-modules. Any simple \(H_q(D_n)\)-module in \(A'\) cannot be isomorphic to a simple \(H_q(D_n)\)-module in \(B'\). The simple \(H_q(D_n)\)-modules in \(B'\) are pairwise non-isomorphic, while a simple \(H_q(D_n)\)-module can appear at most twice in \(A'\).
