The concept of mutual shadowing formalizes the concept of roughness of the observable behavior of dynamic systems and can be regarded as a weak form of structural stability which is useful when studying the dynamics of controlled systems. The concept of mutual shadowing includes the concept of shadowing of both true and pseudotrajectories of a dynamic system. The systems generated by semihyperbolic Lipschitz mappings, which are generally neither smooth nor invertible, are shown to enjoy the mutual shadowing property.
