    Let \(X\) be a closed smooth manifold and \(\varphi:X\to S^1\) a circle-valued Morse function. Choose a generic metric on \(X\) such that \((C_* ^{\text{nov}},d)\) and \(\zeta\) are defined and suppose that the complex \(C_* ^{\text{cell}} (\widehat X)\otimes \mathbb{Q}(t)\) is acyclic. Under these assumptions the following interesting formula is proved: \[ \sum^\infty_{k=1} t^k \text{Fix}(f^k)+ t{d\over dt}\log T_{\text{Morse}}= \text{Str} \bigl((1-tQ)^{-1}\bigr)+m \] in \(\mathbb{Z}((t))\), where \(m\in\mathbb{Z}\). Here, \(f^k\), \(k=1,2, \dots\) are the return maps induced by \(\varphi\), \(T_{\text{Morse}}\) is the Morse-theoretic Reidemeister torsion defined by the relation \(T_{\text{Morse}}= \tau (C_*^{\text{nov}}\otimes \mathbb{Q}((t)))\) and Str denotes the graded trace.
