Arrangements and cohomology (Q1293432)

This paper studies the Orlik-Solomon algebra \(A(M)\) of a matroid \(M\). The author studies the cohomology \(H^*(A,d_w)\) of \(A(M)\) with coboundary map \(d_w\) given by multiplication by a fixed element \(w\) of \(A^1\). The author describes the set \(R_1(A)=\{w \mid H^1(A(M)),d_w) \not=0 \}\) and uses several applications of this. Several examples are also presented.
