The paper is devoted to the investigation of Lagrange interpolation properties corresponding to a sequence of real polynomials having simple zeros. In particular, a problem of mean convergence of certain Lagrange interpolation processes is studied and answered in quite a comprehensive way. A modified problem of mean convergence with respect to an appropriate weight function is pursued as well; sufficient conditions are obtained. A new class of Lagrange interpolation processes that converge in mean is introduced. Criteria for the the mean convergence in Lagrange interpolation processes are obtained by combining classical methods for orthogonal polynomials with the orthogonality property of a series of polynomials with respect to a~series of weights.
