It is well known that the transference theory for \(L^p\) spaces of Caldéron, Coifman and Weiss is a powerful tool with important applications to singular integrals, ergodic theory and the spectral theory of operators. This transference theory offers a unified approach to diverse problems, previously proved by a variety of methods. In this paper, the authors point out a similar approach in the study of spaces of measures. They show that some extensions of the classical F. and M. Riesz theorem due to \textit{S. Bochner} [Ann. Math. 45, 708-722 (1944; Zbl 0060.24302)], \textit{H. Helson} and \textit{D. Lowdenslager} [Acta Math. 99, 165-202 (1958; Zbl 0082.28201); ibid. 106, 175-212 (1961; Zbl 0102.34802)], \textit{K. de Leeuw} and \textit{I. Glicksberg} [Acta Math. 109, 179-205 (1963; Zbl 0126.12102)], \textit{F. Forelli} [Acta Math. 118, 33-59 (1967; Zbl 0171.34201)] and others can be obtained using transference methods. But the methods of Caldéron, Coifman and Weiss cannot be straightforward applied to spaces of measures because in this new case the averaging techniques do not work with measures and do not preserve analyticity; moreover, the techniques require the strong continuity of representations. In this paper, the authors introduce, instead of the last condition, a weaker requirement, called ``sup path attaining''. Using these ``sup path attaining'' representations they prove a new transference principle and present several interesting applications.
