Motivated by the fact that state constraints are often linear and local in time, the authors study the notion of \((A,B)\)-invariance for polyhedral domains. By definition a set is \((A,B)\)-invariant if there exists a feedback (possible nonlinear and time-varying) such that for every initial condition in this set the closed-loop solution remains in the set. For polyhedral sets in algebraic necessary and sufficient characterization of \((A,B)\)-invariance is derived. A construction of the feedback law that makes a polyhedral set invariant is given as well. Furthermore, it is shown that the set of all \((A,B)\)-invariant sets contained in a given closed convex set, is closed under the operation ``convex hull of the union''. This implies that there exists a supremal \((A,B)\)-invariant set contained in a given closed convex set. The authors extend their result to systems which have restrictions on the input as well. They end with a numerical example.
