Riddhi Shah has shown that any infinitely divisible probability measure \(\mu\) on a \(p\)-adic linear group can be expressed as \(x\lambda\), where \(x\) is a unipotent element contained in the center of \(G(\mu)\), the closed subgroup generated by the support of \(\mu\), and \(\lambda\) is embeddable in a continuous one-parameter convolution semigroup \(\{\lambda_t\}_{t>0}\). In the paper under review the authors show that it can further be arranged that the element \(x\) commutes with all the elements from supports of \(\lambda_t\) for all \(t>0\). This completely characterises infinitely divisible measures on the groups as above in terms of embeddable measures.
