The authors introduce operations on \(L\)-fuzzy topological spaces, where \(L\) is a complemented, completely distributive lattice. They study two kinds of operations, those defined on the fuzzy topology which enlarge each set and those defined on the family of closed sets which shrink each set. They derive some algebraic properties of operations and generalize some results on \(\alpha\)-level properties such as \(\alpha\)-continuity, \(\alpha\)-separation, and several kinds of \(\alpha\)-level compactness and covering properties. Operations are presented as a concept which unifies previously studied variations of \(\alpha\)-level properties.
