Explicit construction of group varieties related to soliton solutions of the KP hierarchy (Q1312947)

Relating group varieties to certain solutions of the Kadomtsev- Petviashvili (KP) hierarchy, the author applies an earlier result to a special class of solutions which are of partitular interest in physics -- the so-called \(N\)-solitons. He shows by explicit computations that these solutions are actually holomorphic theta types and that the related group varieties are direct products of the multiplicative group of the ground field \(k\).
