This monograph length paper presents the theory of ``convolution numbers''. Convolution numbers are defined as infinite dimensional vectors of real or complex numbers, associated with power series expansions. The truncated versions used in numerical computations are also called convolution numbers. Arithmetic operations are defined, together with an algebra and a calculus, that leads to the consideration of algebraic and differential equations.
