Let \(k= \mathbb{F}_ q(T)\) be the field of rational functions over the finite field \(\mathbb{F}_ q\), \(R= \mathbb{F}_ q [T]\), and let \(k^{\text{ac}}\) denote the algebraic closure of \(k\). For \(M\in R\), \(\alpha\in k^{\text{ac}}\), define the action of \(M\) on \(\alpha\) by \(u^ M= M(T+F) (\alpha)\), where \(F\) is the \(q\)-th power map. A cyclotomic function field \(k_ M\) over \(k\) is generated by the torsion set \(\Lambda_ M\) of this action. Let \(K/ k_ M\) be a finite extension and let \(z\in K\setminus K^ M\). The splitting field of \(u^ M -z\) over \(K\) is called a Carlitz-Kummer function field. This concept was introduced by \textit{F. Schultheis} [J. Number Theory 36, 133-144 (1990; Zbl 0712.11067)]. Schultheis gave some properties of these extensions and dealt with the decomposition law of a \(K\)-prime in certain cases. In the present paper the author states more decomposition laws. No proofs are given.
