Some new surfaces of general type (Q1346790)

In part I, the author constructs examples of surfaces of general type with positive topological indices, which are cyclic branched coverings of elliptic modular surfaces of level \(N\) ramified over the \(N^2\) sections giving the level structure. In part II he constructs examples of surfaces of general type with \(p_g = 0\), which are quotients of hypersurfaces in the product of three elliptic curves by certain finite group actions.
