Association schemes generated by a non-symmetric relation of valency 2 (Q1349082)

Based on the representation theory of Bose-Mesner algebras, the authors solved two problems in the areas of association schemes and Cayley graphs. They first gave a classification of association schemes with a non-symmetric relation of valency 2. Then they solved a conjecture posed by the reviewer in [J. Comb. Theory, Ser. B 74, 28-34 (1998; Zbl 0904.05064)] and [Bull. Aust. Math. Soc. 58, 137-145 (1998; Zbl 0908.05047)] regarding the isomorphism problem of Cayley digraphs of valency 2, that is, the isomorphism relation between connected Cayley digraphs of valency 2 of a finite simple group can be realized by automorphisms of the base group.
