Minimal surfaces bordered by four lines (Q1355439)

This article is part of the authors thesis (Université Paris VII, 1992). The purpose is to contribute to the classification problem for doubly periodic embedded minimal surfaces in Euclidean space. The author proves that, among embedded minimal surfaces bounded by four vertical lines passing through the vertices of a horizontal parallelogram, Scherk and Karcher surfaces are characterized by their asymptotic behaviour.
