Computation of the frequency response of interval systems (Q1363388)

An efficient procedure is presented for computing the frequency-response templates of uncertain rational transfer functions depending on two independent interval polynomials. It consists of a modified Cohen-Sutherland algorithm for the intersection test of two rectangles and a pivoting algorithm. The proposed procedure divides the complex plane into triangles and uses simple pivotings along with an intersection test algorithm to approximate the template boundary uniformly. The procedure traces out the boundary of a frequency-response template directly, so, in general, it is more efficient than the previously proposed algorithms.
