In view of experimental data, constitutive equations and failure criteria for quasi-isotropic materials established by using the theory of representations for tensor functions, we present some constitutive equations for three- and four-axial quasi-isotropic materials to take into account anisotropic effects. In part II we study the anisotropic effect in strength for an infinite plate with a single elliptical hole or crack, and the proposed stiffness and strength models are verified by using the micromechanical analysis.
