The authors formulate a mathematical model for the arrow motion and explain the so-called ``Archer's paradox''. They show that in the phenomenon of ``arrow snaking around the grip'' important influences come from transverse forces associated with the release of arrow as well as with transverse flexibility of the bow and with the contact force exerted by the pressure point (of the bow) on the arrow. The paper is well written and contains numerical results that correspond to arrows of various constructions.
