The authors study two classes of non-Darcian flows through porous media, namely a turbulent gas flow and flow of a non-Newtonian power-law fluid. In the first case, the gas is injected into the porous medium with pressure being a function of time, while in the second case the authors consider an unconfined radial axisymmetric flow with a free surface. In both cases the governing equations are highly nonlinear and are solved numerically by using the shooting procedure combined with Runge-Kutta method. However, in some particular cases the authors give exact analytical solutions. Results are presented in various graphs.
