We consider the case where the body rotates with a uniform angular velocity, and we discuss only purely dilatational and purely shear waves. We find that, when the axis of rotation of the body is not aligned with the direction of the displacement vector, the rotation of the body influences both dilatational waves and shear waves and causes dispersion of these waves (in general). The shear waves remain unaffected by the thermal field and there occur two coupled dilatational waves influenced by both elastic and thermal fields, but their speeds are modified due to the presence of the rotation of the body. We obtain exact expressions for the speeds and compare them with their counterparts valid for a non-rotating body. We present some numerical results applicable to a copper-like material.
