Let \(S\) be a polynomial ring over a field \(K\) in three sets of indeterminates, and let \(A\) be a trilinear form in \(S\). The ideal \(J_A\) of \(S\) generated by all the partial derivatives of \(A\) is called the Jacobian ideal. The authors study the height of \(J_A\), finding that under some conditions it is the expected one, they determine the minimal primes of \(J_A\), and they show that the maximal ideal of \(S\) generated by all the indeterminates is an associated prime of \(J_A\).
