The author considers a holonomic system with several degrees of freedom whose perturbed motion is governed by equations of the form \[ \sum_{v=1}^n \bigl[a_{sv}\ddot x_v + b_{sv}\dot x_v + c_{sv}x_v\bigr] = f_s, \quad s = 1,\dots,n \] where \(x_v\) are the deviations of the generalized coordinates from their nominal values and \(f_s\) are the generalized forces causing the motion. The following problem is under consideration. For each degree of freedom, a program trajectory of motion is specified. It is necessary to find control forces \(f_s^*(x,\dot x)\) such that the coordinates \(x_s(t)\) follow the specified trajectory with the necessary degree of approximation.
