This paper constructs a family of hybrid, exponentially fitted, predictor-corrector methods of order six for the one-dimensional Schrödinger equation. Numerical testing confirms the superiority of these methods to Numerov-type methods and exponentially fitted Runge-Kutta methods because they integrate exactly more exponential functions. Furthermore, these new methods are almost P-stable and are at least as computationally efficient as the other classes of methods.
