A fluid flow through a porous medium governed by a nonlinear filtration problem is studied. The porous medium is separated by two water reservoirs that have two different water levels. A nonlinear semipermeability condition or, in other words, a leaky boundary condition is imposed on some part of the boundary of this medium. The problem is given in the form of a variational inequality. The author proves that the free boundary is a continuous curve by the variational method. Based on a comparison result obtained by the author, the uniqueness of the solution is also proved.
