On a new algorithm for the computation of enclosures for the Titchmarsh-Weyl \(m\)-function (Q1384125)

The authors consider the problem of computing safe error bounds for the value of the Titchmarsh-Weyl \(m\)-function associated with the differential expression \[ My\equiv {1\over\omega} (-(py')'+ qy) \] defined on \([a,\infty)\), \(-\infty<a\). The work builds on previous studies and derives to new algorithms which efficiently deal with the cases \(q(x)= \pm x^\alpha\), \(0<\alpha< 2\), \(\alpha\neq 1\). The methods extend to more general problems.
