Several parametric solutions of the diophantine equation \[ X_1^5+ X_2^5+ X_3^5= Y_1^5+ Y_2^5+ Y_3^5 \] are known. The complete solution is, however, yet to be found. In this paper, a number of new two- and three-paramter solutions of this diophantine equation are obtained and it is shown that several families of new parametric solutions may be obtained using known solutions.
