    A new simultaneous pole and zero placement approach based on the use of feedforward and feedback compensators is presented. The plant is allowed to possess unstable zeros which are not required to be included as zeros of the reference model. The controller consists of a precompensator and a feedback and feedforward compensator. The algorithms for controller synthesis require to solve two diophantine equations. The stability, performance and robustness of control schemes are investigated.
