The authors follow their investigation in the area of modular forms using the dyadic trace. In this paper they define the concept of slope for integral lattices. The main theorem states that a Siegel cusp form of slope less than the slope of an integral lattice with Gram matrix \(s\) satisfies \(f(s\tau)=0\) for any \(\tau\) in the upper half plane. Using this result the authors can exhibit, in genus 4, explicit period matrices that are not in the Jacobian locus
