    A continuous linear operator \(T:X \rightarrow X\) defined on a Banach space \(X\) is called hypercyclic if there is a vector \(x \in X\), called hypercyclic vector for \(T\), such that its orbit \(\{ x, T(x), T^2(x),\dots \}\) is dense in \(X\). By a classical theorem of Rolewicz, the weighted backward shift \(\lambda B: l_2 \rightarrow l_2, (x_1,x_2,x_3,\dots ) \mapsto\lambda (x_2,x_3,\dots ),\) is hypercyclic if \(| \lambda | >1\). \textit{H. N. Salas} [Stud. Math. 135, 55--74 (1999; Zbl 0940.47005)] posed the problem of studying the common hypercyclic vectors of the operators \(\lambda B, | \lambda | >1\). In the interesting article under review, the authors show that the operators \(\lambda B, | \lambda | >1,\) share a common dense invariant subspace in which every nonzero vector is hypercyclic. This result has been obtained independently by \textit{G. Costakis} and \textit{M. Sambarino} [in Adv. Math. 182, 278--306 (2004; Zbl 1066.47005)] and by \textit{A. Peris} [unpublished].
