Determinant functors on exact categories and their extensions to categories of bounded complexes (Q1396322)

The author defines the notion of a determinant functor on an exact category with values in a Picard category, and its properties are investigated. The main of the paper states that the category of determinants on the bounded derived category of an exact category \(\mathcal E\) is equivalent via restriction to the category of determinants on \(\mathcal E\). Under certain conditions, there are natural isomorphisms between the determinant of a complex and of its cohomology, and between the determinant of a filtered complex and of the \(r\)th term of its associated spectral sequence. The author also shows that the main result generalizes to multideterminants.
