The aim of this article is to generalize the method developed by the author for equations with algebraic turning point to the differential case. By introducing a new variable, he carries out a regularization of a Liouville-type singular perturbed differential equation when the solution of the degenerate equation is smooth. Three solutions which are representable in the form of asymptotic series in a resonance-free space are constructed. Part II cf. the preceding review (Zbl 1043.34061).
