Design relations for 2-DOF PID-like control systems are derived via the IMC paradigm and control-oriented modeling of the process to be controlled. Firstly one introduces internal model control systems, equivalent 2-DOF PID controllers and the models of the process to be controlled. Then one derives new design relations for the compensators in IMC loops as well as for equivalent PI or PID controllers. Simulation results are displayed.
