In this paper the author deepens the understanding of the structure of the value function of pursuit--evasion games on two--dimensional manifolds in \(\mathbb R^3\), in particular on hyperboloids defined by \(x_1^2+x_2^2+b=kx_3^2,\;b\geq0, k>0\). The conical case \(b=0\), and some of the work for the case \(b>0\), was covered in previous papers. There it was established that besides the the so--called primary and secondary domains \(D_1,D_2\) of the phase space of the game, there is a domain \(D_3\) of a third type on which the value of the game does not depend on the position of the evader (so that on \(D\) the game becomes an optimal control problem). Analysis of the HJBI equations for the various subspaces lead to specification of the associated value functions, and the expression for \(D_3\) allows to construct the boudary surface between the latter and \(D_1\). The boundary between \(D_2\) and \(D_3\) was found in previous papers for the case \(b=0\), and it remains open for the present \(b>0\) case.
