A Laplace transform is defined over an arbitrary time scale being a nonempty closed subset of the reals. This transform contains the classical and the (modified) \(Z\)-transform as special cases, but also a transform for solving linear \(q\)-difference equations. Several examples and formulas are presented, among them the convolution on a time scale.
