The authors study the solvability of the Riemann-Hilbert problem, \[ w_{\overline z}= {Q(\overline z)\over P(\overline z)} w+ aw+ b\overline w, \] for a generalized Cauchy-Riemann system with several singularities. The problem is formulated on the unit disk, \(\Omega= \{z: z\leq 1\}\), in the complex plane. \(Q(z)\) and \(P(z)\) are polynomials in the complex plane where \(P(z)\) contains only simple roots within the closed unit disk. Several new results are carefully presented and proven. The number of continuous solutions are shown to not only depend on the index but also on the location and type of the singularities. Moreover these solutions do not depend continuously on the coefficients of the equation. A very careful and detailed solution is then proven for the non-normal type Riemann-Hilbert problem, \[ \begin{aligned} u_{\overline z}= Au+B\overline u+ C\quad &\text{in }\Omega,\\ \text{Re}[\overline G(z)\pi(z) u(z)]= g(z)\quad &\text{on }\partial\Omega.\end{aligned} \] All of the details surrounding the solution to this problem are carefully examined and detailed proofs are given.
