This is an excellent study of helicoidal maximal surfaces in Lorentz space. These surfaces represent solutions to some adapted Björling problems in Lorentz space. And they are classified according to this property. The paper describes the associate families of such surfaces (helicoids and catenoids in Lorentz space). The paper also states that: ``there does not exist a Björling-type formula; time-like minimal surfaces cannot be represented in terms of holomorphic data''. It may be worth adding that \textit{M. A. Magid} gave a normalized Weierstrass formula [Hokkaido Math. J. 20, No. 3, 447--464 (1991; Zbl 0753.53039)] and the reviewer and her coauthor recently used this representation in order to construct time-like minimal surfaces via loop groups [\textit{J. Inoguchi} and \textit{M. Toda}, Time-like minimal surfaces via loop groups, Acta Appl. Math. 83, 313--355 (2004)].
