Let \(\Omega\) be a smooth bounded domain in \(\mathbb R^N\) such that \(0\in\Omega\), \(N\geq 7\). This paper is devoted to the study of the semilinear elliptic problem \[ -\Delta u-\mu u/| x| ^2=(| u| ^{2^*(s)-2}/| x| ^s)u+\lambda u, \] subject to the Dirichlet boundary condition \(u=0\) on \(\partial\Omega\), where \(\lambda\), \(\mu\) are positive parameters, \(0\leq s<2\), and \(2^*(s):=2(N-s)/(N-2)\) denotes the Hardy-Sobolev critical exponent. The main purpose of the present paper is to prove the existence of sign-changing solutions. The ideas of the proof are the following: (i) by studying a suitable approximating problem, it is first established the existence of a sequence of approximating sign-changing solutions; (ii) the sequence of approximating solutions converges, up to a subsequence, to a sign-changing solution of the above considered boundary value problem.
