The authors study a discretization method which combines finite elements with particle interpolation, based on enrichment. An a priori error estimation for the \(h\)-\(p\) enrichment of finite elements with particles is carried out. This error estimation is used in order to study the convergence of the method and to design proper adaptive strategies.
