Für den Integralsinus und Integralcosinus, also für \[ \text{Si}(x) = \int_0^x \sin x \, \frac{dx}{x} \quad \text{ und } \quad \text{Ci}(x) = \int_x^\infty \cos x \, \frac{dx}{x} \] hat \textit{Glaisher} Tabellen aufgestellt (1870; F. d. M. 2, 863 (JFM 02.0863.*)). Nun ist: \[ \begin{aligned} \left[\frac{\partial}{\partial\nu} J_\nu(z)\right]_{\nu=\tfrac 12} & = J_{\tfrac 12}(z) \text{Ci}(2z) - J_{\tfrac 12}(z) \text{Si}(2z). \\ \left[\frac{\partial}{\partial\nu} J_\nu(z)\right]_{\nu=-\tfrac 12} & = J_{-\tfrac 12}(z) \text{Ci}(2z) + J_{\tfrac 12}(z) \text{Si}(2z). \end{aligned} \] Vermittels der Rekursionsformel \[ J_{\nu - 1}(z) + J_{\nu + 1}(z) = \frac{z}{2\nu} J_\nu (z) \] kann man also die Werte von \(\dfrac{\partial J_\nu(z)}{\partial\nu}\) für alle \(\nu\) berechnen, welche die Hälfte einer ungeraden Zahl sind.
