Let \((W,S)\) be a Coxeter system with \(\ell(w)\) its length function. Define a quasi-order \(\leq\) on elements of a conjugacy class \(C\) in \(W\), which is the transitive closure of the relation \(w\leq sws\), where \(w\in C\) and \(s\in S\) satisfy \(\ell(w)\leq\ell(sws)\). Write \(w\sim x\) if \(w\leq x\leq w\). This defines an equivalence relation on \(C\) and \(\leq\) induces a partial order on the set \(P(C)\) of these equivalence classes. In the paper under review, the author studies some properties of \(P(C)\), mainly in the cases where \(W\) has type \(A_n\), \(B_n\) and \(D_n\). He studies the number of the elements in \(P(C)\) and also the number of elements contained in each minimal element of the poset \(P(C)\).
