The author studies complex manifolds \(M\) which satisfy the following property: there exists a compact subset \(K\) such that \(M-K\) is Kobayashi-hyperbolic. In what follows, complex manifolds with the above property are called complex manifolds with the *-property. The author first proves the following theorem, which extends Fujimoto's theorem [\textit{H. Fujimoto}, Nagoya Math. J. 33, 85-106 (1968; Zbl 0165.40403)]: Let \(M\) be a complex manifold with the *-property. Then the group of bimeromorphic automorphisms of \(M\) is a Lie group. She next deals with homogeneous manifolds with the *-property, which are homogeneous under the action of a complex Lie group. In particular, she proves that complex homogeneous manifolds with the *-property are, besides the compact or hyperbolic ones, holomorphic fiber bundles over compact complex homogeneous manifolds with 1-dimensional fiber. Finally she studies homogeneous manifolds with the *-property, which are homogeneous under the action of a real Lie group. She deals with the case where the group is semisimple of first category. She also obtains some results about function theory of these manifolds.
