Characteristic conditions of the generation of \(C_0\) semigroups in a Hilbert space (Q1576942)

The authors characterize the generator \(A\) of a \(C_0\) semigroup on a Hilbert space \(H\) by estimates of the form \(\sup_{\sigma>\sigma_0}\int_{\mathbb R} \|R(\sigma +i\tau, A)x\|^2 dr < \infty\), \(x \in H\), (and similarly for the adjoint \(A^*\)).
