The aim of the work is to develop Kirillov theory for irreducible admissible representations of \(G:=GL_2(\mathcal{D})\) for a division algebra \(\mathcal{D}\) over a non-Archimedean local field \(F\) in analogy with the case \(GL_2(F)\) [\textit{H. Jacquet} and \textit{R. P. Langlands}, Automorphic forms on \(GL(2)\), Lect. Notes Math. 114 (Berlin 1970; Zbl 0236.12010)]. The authors apply this theory to develop a theory of new forms for such representations and investigate the space of fixed vectors under that type of congruence subgroup for any irreducible admissible representation of \(G\). For principal series representations and very cuspidal representations of \(G\) they express the conductor in the sense of epsilon factors [\textit{R. Godement} and \textit{H. Jacquet}, Zeta functions of simple algebras. Lect. Notes Math. 260 (Berlin 1972; Zbl 0244.12011)] in terms of the conductor in the sense of new forms and the index of \(\mathcal{D}\) over \(F\), where the notion of a very cuspidal representation is again a generalization in analogy of the case of \(GL_2(F)\) [\textit{H. Carayol}, An. Sci. Éc. Norm. Supér. (4) 17, 191-225 (1984; Zbl 0549.22009)]. Finally they consider the Shalika model [\textit{H. Jacquet} and \textit{S. Rallis}, Compos. Math. 102, 65-123 (1996; Zbl 0855.22018)] that is closely related to the Kirillov model and show that it exists only for self-contragredient representations.
