The author gives estimations of bounds for the fundamental functions of Hermite interpolation of higher order on an arbitrary system of nodes. Those estimations are applied for investigations of convergence of Hermite interpolation and Hermite-Fejér-type interpolation of higher order. Namely, new sufficient conditions for the convergence of those interpolations are given. Moreover new Grünwald-type theorems are given. Part of results are essentially simplified and improved versions of former author's theorems from [\textit{Y. G. Shi}, \textit{Constructive Approximation} 10, No.~4, 439-450 (1994; Zbl 0820.41003)].
