A Steiner system \(S(2,4,v)\) is 2-chromatic if each vertex receives one of two colors so that no block is monochromatic; that is, the \(S(2,4,v)\) has a blocking set. \textit{D. G. Hoffman}, \textit{C. C. Lindner} and \textit{K. T. Phelps} [Eur. J. Comb. 11, 451-457 (1990; Zbl 0742.05014)] established that a 2-chromatic \(S(2,4,v)\) exists for all \(v\equiv 1,4\pmod{12}\), except possibly for \(v\in \{37,40,73\}\). In this note, the authors give constructions for these three remaining cases.
