The paper is a continuation of a previous work of R. J. Daverman. The authors of the paper under review give conditions for a closed manifold to be a codimension-2 fibrator. A manifold \(N\) is called a codimension-2 fibrator if any proper map \(p:M \to B\), where \(M\) is an \((n+2)\)-manifold and each \(p^{-1}(B), b \in B\), has the homotopy type (more generally, the shape) of \(N\), is an approximate fibration. It is shown that if \(N\) a closed manifold such that \(\pi_1(N)\) is an Abelian 2-group, then \(N\) is a codimension-2 fibrator. Under more restrictive conditions for \(N\) to be a codimension-2 fibrator it is sufficient to assume that either \(H_1(N)\) is a cyclic 2-group or that \(H_1(N)\) is an arbitrary finite cyclic group and no element of \(\pi_1(N)\) has finite order.
