This paper is devoted to the problem of a thin infinite plate strip whose upper edge is built in whereas the lower edge is partly built in, and partly free. The whole plate is subjected to a uniform load applied on its upper surface. A solution is presented to this classical problem based on an eigenfunction expansion, and numerical results are presented for the deflection of the plate and for the induced moment and shear resultants.
