The dynamics of a large fully connected neural network is considered to be given by the following nonlinear time-elapsed evolution equation: \(\partial_tf=-\partial_xf-k(x,\lambda m(t))f\), \(f(t,0)=p(t)\), \(f(0,x)=f_o(x)\), where \(f(x,t)\) means the density number of neurons, \(x\geq 0\), \(t\geq 0\), \(k(x,\lambda\mu)\) denotes the firing rate of a neuron in state \(x\), \(\lambda\) is a connectivity parameter and \(m(t)\) describes the global neuronal activity. One also defines the delay distribution \(b\) as a probability measure, taking into account the persistence of the electric activity to the discharges in the network. The aim of the research is to prove existence, uniqueness and exponential asymptotic stability of the solutions to this system. In the case that the firing rate, the initial data, the functions \(p(t)\), \(m(t)\) and the delay distribution satisfy some special conditions, the existence of a weak solution is proved. Conditions for uniqueness are specified, too. The proofs evaluate separately the assumptions: weak or strong connectivity regime in cases with delay or without delay. Another result states the exponential nonlinear stability of the considered stationary state in the weak and strong connectivity regimes.
