For a smooth projective curve \(C\) of genus \(g\geq 2\), \textit{M. S. Narasimhan} and \textit{C. S. Seshadri} [Ann. Math. (2) 82, 540--567 (1965; Zbl 0171.04803)] have shown that vector bundles on \(C\) are stable if and only if they arise from irreducible unitary representations of the fundamental group of \(C\). The moduli space of stable vector bundles on \(C\) is equipped with a natural symplectic structure depending only on the underlying topological surface of \(C\). The present paper studies the moduli spaces of parabolic connections with a quadratic differential. These spaces are endowed with symplectic structures by using the fundamental 2-forms on the moduli spaces of parabolic connections. The latter are phase spaces of isomonodromic deformation systems. The moduli spaces of parabolic connections with a quadratic differential are equipped with structures of twisted cotangent bundles.
